Building on a legacy of creating authentic LGBTQ2+ marketing campaigns grounded in purpose
By Jumol Royes
A quick Google search for the word elevate returns that it means to raise or lift something up to a higher position, or to raise to a more important or impressive level.
Here at Elevate Media Group, we wholeheartedly agree.
We’ve recently undergone a major makeover, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you. A new name, a redesigned website, a refreshed logo, updated social media handles. To say that a lot has changed is an understatement. But one thing remains the same: Our mission to help elevate brands and the communities they serve through authentic LGBTQ2+ marketing that’s grounded in purpose.
While we may look different, we continue to draw upon close to two decades of global experience working with diverse LGBTQ2+ communities to provide unparalleled expertise and marketing campaigns for clients in Canada, the U.S. and beyond.
The journey to Elevate Media Group started back in 2007 when Mint Media Group was founded by our fearless and transformational leader, Patricia Salib. We were the only LGBTQ2+ focused marketing agency in the Greater Toronto Area at the time. Since the very beginning, we’ve believed that authentic and effective marketing can and should go hand in hand. We’ve always prided ourselves on creating local and national campaigns that connect with and support the LGBTQ2+ community in a meaningful way.
Over the years, we’ve worked with household brands like Fido, Lexus, Nike, Rexall and TD, to namedrop a few. If we still used a rolodex to keep track of clients, ours would be pretty impressive. We’ve also been privileged to work alongside non-profit community organizations serving the needs of diverse LGBTQ2+ communities from coast to coast to coast. The connecting thread for all our work has been to inspire, innovate and change the world for the better.
Then 2020 happened.
We made the conscious choice to take stock of where we were and where we aspired to be. We took time as a team to regroup, reflect and reimagine what our future as an agency could look like. We envisioned more than just a marketing company, but a movement that we would co-create in partnership with brands and the communities they serve. It was time for empowerment and growth. Or as Ciara put it, it was time for us to level up.
And thus, we were reborn as Elevate Media Group.
So, what does the Elevate Media Group rebrand look like for us as a team? It means that we constantly challenge ourselves, and our clients, to redefine what’s possible and elevate everything we do by continuing to learn, grow, contribute and be inspired. Joy, creativity and collaboration are our calling cards and the values we hold near and dear to our hearts. We define success as marketing campaigns where no one is left out and no one is left behind, a win-win for brands and the community.
Whether you’ve been working with the LGBTQ2+ community for decades, or are just getting started, we can help you discover what’s possible. When you work with us, you’ll build unwavering brand loyalty from an awesome community that’s eager to support brands that show up with and for them 365 days a year. Together, we can make an impact and serve a purpose greater than ourselves.
Take a stroll through the new Elevate Media Group website and you’ll quickly see that we’re not your typical marketing agency. That’s by design.
We’ve cut out the industry jargon and Franken-speak (aka sales-y language and marketing hype) because we believe elegant simplicity is the foundation of good messaging. No boring bios or cookie-cutter corporate headshots here; our team profiles and photos are fun and friendly, a true reflection of who we are as a collective. Our blog will feature topics like the latest in LGBTQ2+ marketing news and trends, but we’ll also take you on a deep dive into issues we care about like the value of vulnerability in the workplace and how to go beyond just talking about diversity, equity and inclusion to putting it into practice. We won’t shy away from tackling the issues that really matter. Being a different kind of marketing agency is what sets us apart.
Our new brand identity – colours, design and logo – is contemporary, yet classic. It reflects our position as an industry leader in LGBTQ2+ marketing while recognizing that our purpose is resolute, and our values will never go out of style.
When it comes to our brand voice and tone, you can expect us to be warm and approachable. We’re a small but mighty team of innovators, changemakers, creators, seekers, storytellers, artists, travellers and lovers of great food who communicate with compassion. We show up in the world as our authentic selves and hold space for others to do the same. We care about people, and we care about brands. When you’re in our company, you can trust that you’re in good hands.
If you want to let us know what you think about our new look, or are interested in working together, you can email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also connect with us on Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
Can you imagine a world where marketing campaigns use their power for good? We sure can.
We wouldn’t have it any other way.
